Country Life on Haileybury architecture - February 24 2021

As Chair of Haileybury’s Estates Committee, I was delighted to see this fascinating, beautifully illustrated, six-page article on the history of Haileybury and its buildings in Country Life magazine - 24th February. Architectural editor, John Goodall, explains the history of the UK‘s first Greek revival buildings by William Wilkins, the only institutional Humphry Repton landscaping, Arthur Blomfield‘s domed chapel and Herbert Baker‘s masterpiece, the low-domed World War I Memorial (dining) Hall.

This coincides with the completion of a comprehensive conservation management plan for the Haileybury site, an exciting masterplan for the school’s future development and publication in 2020 of Haileybury: a Short Architectural Guide.
